The Academy Brassline
Since 2001, The Arizona Academy of the Performing Arts has programmed multiple chamber brass and percussion ensembles as a part of its mission of building great people through great performances. In 2004, the organization launched its largest program, The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. In 2006, the corps had grown to 135 members and competing for the first time in Drum Corps International’s World Championships in Madison, Wisconsin where they earned the title of Division II World Champions. Last year, The Academy was declared “the official drum and bugle corps of the City of Tempe”. In 2010, the corps will be competing in its third season as a top-tier World Class corps.
As a non-profit organization, The Arizona Academy of the Performing Arts sponsors a multitude of other programs and camps including youth and independent winter guards, the Summer Marching Academy leadership camp, and an adult community band called the Arizona Wind Symphony. 80-90% of the program members reside in the state of Arizona.

The Academy performs exclusively on Jupiter, Mapex, and Majestic marching brass and percussion instruments
