Jay Hunsberger

Jay Hunsberger, tuba, has been performing with the Sarasota Orchestra since 1987. Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Jay earned his Bachelor’s of Music and Master’s of Music from Indiana University. He has performed at Tanglewood, Grand Teton Music Festival, Music Academy of the West and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestral Seminar. He has performed as a solo/chamber musician at many American universities including Indiana University, University of Michigan, Cincinnati Conservatory, University of Oregon, University of North Carolina, Florida State University, University of Florida, DePaul University, Northwestern University, Northern Illinois University and Emory University. He also performed solo at the International Tuba/Euphonium Conference in Budapest, Hungary. Jay is a professor of tuba and euphonium at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
