Collegium Tubum, the University of Iowa Tuba-Euphonium EnsembleCollegium Tubum, the University of Iowa tuba-euphonium ensemble, features the students of Professor John Manning and is conducted by Michael Hart, a doctoral conducting candidate at Iowa. The ensemble maintains an active performance schedule on campus, across the state of Iowa, and at regional and international events. Collegium Tubum has performed at ITEC 2008 in Cincinnati, the 2009 Great Plains Regional Tuba-Euphonium Conference, the 2007 Hawkeye Regional Tuba-Euphonium Conference, Tubonium 7, and now at ITEC 2010 in Tucson. In addition, the group has been a featured performer at the University of Northern Iowa, the William Bell Memorial Day, and Coe College Brass Day in Cedar Rapids. On the University of Iowa campus, Collegium Tubum performs at studio recitals each semester, semester, a "Holiday Tubas" outdoor concert each December, and have been asked to perform at Iowa’s Old Capitol on the occasion of the building’s re-dedication in 2006 and for the Virginia Tech memorial service in 2007. Members of Collegium Tubum have competed at and won awards in competitions at Tubonium 7 and the Great Plains Regional Tuba Conference in 2009. Alumni have moved on to teach at the secondary and collegiate levels, as well as continue study of their instruments at the graduate level. |
