Jeffery W. JarvisJeffery W. Jarvis is Associate Professor and Chair of the Music Department at the University of Central Arkansas. In his fifth year as chair, he came to UCA from East Carolina University where he taught tuba and euphonium while chairing the Department of Instrumental Studies there. He has performed extensively with the North Carolina Symphony as well as performing concertos and recitals throughout the southeast and mid-west. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Baylor University and the D.M.A. from Michigan State University. His primary teachers include tubists Philip Sinder and Samuel Pilafian; trombonists Andrew Russell and Chris Matten. His first CD, with percussionist Mark Ford, Athletic Conveyances, Music for Tuba and Percussion was released in 1999 by Arizona University Recordings. |
