John ManningJohn Manning, Associate Professor of tuba and euphonium at the University of Iowa, is a founding member of the Atlantic Brass Quintet, received his undergraduate degree from Boston University and his graduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. With the Atlantic Brass Quintet, Mr. Manning has performed in forty-nine states and in 24 countries throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Central America. The Atlantic Brass Quintet has won six international chamber music competitions and performed at the White House, Tanglewood, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. Mr. Manning has served on the faculty of The Boston Conservatory, Boston University’s School for the Arts and Tanglewood Institute, and the University of Massachusetts. As a guest artist, he has been a featured at Universities in Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska, Kansas and Kentucky. He has appeared at numerous International and regional Tuba Euphonium Conferences and hosted the 2003 Northeastern Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference at University of Massachusetts, and the 2007 Hawkeye Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference. John's debut solo CD for Summit Records is titled Four Corners:Tuba Music from around the World. |
