Brian Meixner

Dr. Brian Meixner is currently Assistant Professor of Music at Slippery Rock University where he teaches studio low brass and conducts the wind ensemble and brass band. Brian also plays euphonium full time with the River City Brass Band and has been featured with the band on several performances. In addition to his work with the RCBB, Brian performs with two active chamber brass ensembles, the “River City 6” and “River Bottom Quartet”. Brian has been featured as a euphonium artist and clinician with various university and high school ensembles, brass bands, and music conferences throughout the United States. Brian has also been active promoting and commissioning several new compositions for the euphonium.

Brian Meixner’s education includes a DMA and Master’s degree in Euphonium Performance from the University of North Texas, a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Kentucky, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Western Illinois University where he studied with Dr. Brian Bowman, Dr. Skip Gray and Dr. Hugo Magliocco respectively.
