Louis Young

Louis Young is Assistant Professor of Music at The University of Central Arkansas. Louis received graduate performance degrees from The University of Georgia and The University of Michigan. His teaching concentration is in the area of Music in General Studies. Louis is also active in faculty governance having served three years as a senator on the Faculty Senate at UCA and as a member of the American Association of University Professors. Recent professional activities include submitting the first ever National Endowment for the Arts grant proposal from the music department at UCA. Louis is also very actively involved in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia as governor of Province 4 which includes eight student chapters within the state of Arkansas. Louis regularly performs with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra as a substitute player. Professional memberships include The College Music Society, The International Tuba Euphonium Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America.
