
On our cover: On our cover: Jens Bjørn-Larsen has won first prizes at the 1991 Concours International d'Execution Musicale in Geneva and 1985 Nordic Soloist Competition, the Victor Borge Award, the Japanese Mediawave Bunkamura Prize, and the European Juventus Award. From 1987 until 2005, he was principal tubist in the Danish Radio Orchestra. In 2002 Jens Bjørn-Larsen was appointed professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover. He is a B&S and Melton Artist, playing recitals and giving masterclasses all over Europe and the U.S. Many thanks extended to Dr. Joseph Skillen (Professor of Tuba, Louisiana State University) and Jens for their wonderful collaboration in preparing this article for publication in this issue of the ITEA Journal.
