On our cover: Toru Miura, a 2008 ITEA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, is one of the most respected euphonium artists in the world. Former principal euphonium under the late Frederick Fennell in the Tokyo Kosei Wind Ensemble, Mr. Miura has had a significant impact on low brass instruments in Japan and surrounding regions. Founder of both the Tokyo Bari-Tuba Ensemble and The Euphonium Company, Mr. Miura is currently professor of the euphonium and wind orchestras at the Kunitachi College of Music. |
